A Mother and Her Minions

The plaintiff says she loaned the defendant, her daughter, money for tuition and a lawyer after her arrest and has yet to be repaid. She is suing for the amount loaned. The defendant says her mother never loaned her money. She claims they never had a typical mother-daughter relationship, have never gotten along, and that her mother — who is out of work — believes she received a large settlement after a car accident and is trying to get a piece of it.
