2026 Jones Beach Airshow - RAF Red Arrows
The Royal Air Force's Red Arrows marked their second airshow appearance during the 2026 Operation Eagle Hawk tour of the United States by performing at the 2026 Jones Beach Airshow - their first ever appearance over Jones Beach. The Red Arrows had previously flown airshows in New York State in 2019 when the team visited several airshow locations in North America along with a private airshow display in Staten Island in their 2008 North American tour. The 2026 season sees the Red Arrows flying seven jets in flight displays rather than nine jets, as there are issues with keeping airframes and engines in supply. Therefore, for the foreseeable future, Red Arrows displays will consist of seven jets while flypasts will consist of the traditional nine-plane formation. The 2026 Operation Eagle Hawk tour of the United States brings the Red Arrows to airshow locations in Baltimore, over Jones Beach, in Maine, Michigan, and culminating in their debut at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The team will also take part in historic flyovers at locations around the United States as they transit from location to location and are a critical piece of the International Aerial Review over New York City. Sunday's performance over the Jones Beach State Park featured the Red Arrows' high show performance that ended with their American flag pass - all before they joined up with the Canadian Forces' Snowbirds for a joint flight, which is featured separately. The 2026 Jones Beach Airshow is one of the signature events commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, with airshow dates taking place from July 5-6, 2026 (yes, that's Sunday and Monday!), with practice taking place on Friday July 3, 2026. There were no airshow-related events over Jones Beach State Park on July 4; however Jones Beach did host their annual fireworks display that night. Aviation-related activities did take place in New York City on July 4, which is featured separately. The video showcased here was shot on Sunday July 5, 2026 at the Jones Beach State Park and also shot while standing in the water, which will explain why you hear the waves crashing and much of the crowd/beachgoers. MUSIC DISCLAIMER: Any music in the video was played through a public address system and ZINGER AVIATION MEDIA does not have any control over what music is being played during an air show or the volume of said music. Over the years, the music industry has increased its concern to ensure they are paid when ANY copyrighted music is played. Therefore, according to the International Council of Air Shows (ICAS), any U.S. air show, whether civilian or military, must secure the necessary music licenses for broadcast of pre-recorded copyrighted music over public address systems. As stated for the 2026 airshow season, ICAS has negotiated a deal that will allow issuance of music licenses for ICAS member air shows for all three US music licensing organizations: ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC. Each ICAS member air show is eligible for a single package of the three music licenses for one air show at the cost of $770 for a one (1) day air show; $1,100 for a two (2) day air show; $1,375 for a three (3) day air show; $1,650 for a four (4) day air show; $1,925 for a five (5) day air show, $2,200 for a six (6) day air show; $2,475 for a seven (7) day air show, and $2,750 for an eight (8) day air show. The rate applies only to music broadcast over the public address system during the public air show portion of the program (not practice/rehearsal/closed to the public days) and does not provide the air show with the right to use pre-recorded music at concerts or other non-air show special events held in conjunction with the air show. These rates may be higher for 2026 events.
