Bene: Good Old Hungarian Wine Village of Ukraine

Just after the grape harvest we visited the delightful village of Bene in southwestern Ukraine and tasted as many wines as we could while trying to remain standing. It seems that just about every resident makes his own wine. Bene is located right beside the Hungarian border, and like neighboring Berehove (the subject, as our gentle viewers doubtless recall, of our previous video) most of its residents are Hungarian. The Hungarians call Berehove Beregszász, perhaps to bewilder visitors. Fortunately, Bene is called Bene in both languages, sparing those visitors further confusion. Bene is a fine quiet village amidst rolling hills, in one of the main wine-producing regions of Ukraine. We visited some family wineries that we used to frequent when we lived in Berehove five years earlier, and while there we tasted many different wines... and stumbled back to Berehove singing! #ukraine #ukrainetravel #carpathians #followthecap #rurallife #countrylife #wine #winetasting #transcarpathia #zakarpattia #hungary These videos can't be made without the help of caffeine.
