From Dead Ends To Kingdom Roads

FROM DEAD ENDS TO KINGDOM ROADS is Track XVI and the title-track finale of the Christian testimony album FROM DEAD ENDS TO KINGDOM ROADS. This song brings the entire album together. It travels through ghettos, barrios, projects, trailer parks, backroads, addiction, family trauma, organized violence, corruption, exploitation, incarceration, grief, relapse, repentance, renewed identity, spiritual warfare, outreach, and complete transformation through Jesus Christ. I grew up around drugs, alcohol, household conflict, poverty, street violence, and generational pain. Later, I became trapped in many of the same destructive patterns I once hated. My testimony includes early marijuana and alcohol use, mushrooms, acid, methamphetamine addiction, overdose, spiritual darkness, jail, grief after my father’s death, and alcohol relapse. I smoked, snorted, and ate methamphetamine, but never used needles. I became clean from drugs in November 2022 and sober from alcohol in April 2023. This song does not present my life as proof of personal toughness. It is proof of the mercy, patience, truth, correction, forgiveness, and transforming power of Jesus Christ. Jesus did not merely help me survive. He exposed my excuses, called me to repentance, gave me a new identity, began renewing my mind, taught me forgiveness without denying justice, and turned my testimony into a mission to return for people still trapped in darkness. The rescued do not forget the captives. We return with truth, food, prayer, recovery support, healthy boundaries, practical help, discipleship, and the gospel. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life.” John 14:6 KJV The dead end was not my destination. Jesus was the road.
