Sunset Crater: The Day Arizona Blew Up

In this episode of Desert Lore, I travel to Arizona to visit Sunset Crater. This volcano erupted very recently, in 1085AD. People were living beneath the volcano when it erupted. The tribes fled the ash and lava flows, but returned not long after, and took advantage of the new layer of nutrient dense volcanic ash that made the community of Wupatki thrive and become an agricultural powerhouse.
