Morrissey is back – and, of course, he's generating a lot of buzz. 🎤 Six years after I Am Not A Dog On A Chain, my idol (along with Bob Dylan and Mark E. Smith) is releasing a new album: Make Up Is A Lie. But why isn't the album called Bonfire Of Teenagers? Will Morrissey still be the provocateur in 2026 who reliably gets self-appointed guardians of virtue up the wall? And above all: Is the new album even worth listening to? In this video, I talk about Morrissey's difficult later years, about controversies, media hype, and virtue signaling – but, of course, primarily about the music. We'll take a look at which songs truly impress, why the opener "You're Right, It's Time" feels like a comeback statement, what's behind the controversial "Notre Dame," and why the closing track, "The Monsters of Pig Alley," is already one of my favorite Morrissey songs in decades. 🌙 So, is Make Up Is a Lie the big comeback?
