Restaurant 81: Ed Brown was among the top of his generation of French trained young American Chefs in NYC in the 80's 90's and 'Aughts. These days he's the CEO of the legendary Restaurant Associates. This was his first and only foray as an independent chef owner operated restaurateur on West 81st Street steps off Central Park West. The food was great, as was the room and service, but the critics were not enamored, and unfortunately it didn't last long as is so often the case with the hyper competitive NYC restaurant scene.
