How to conduct a tissue test to check your kiln elements

In this video Brenda demonstrates how to carry out a simple paper/tissue test to check your kiln elements. If your kiln is not reaching temperature, this can often just be a sign of a worn out element or relay, which can easily be replaced. The tissue test is the simplest self-diagnostic check you can carry out yourself to narrow down the cause of the issue to an element or relay before you consider calling an electrician. NOTES: 1. It is useful to refer to the wiring diagram for your kiln to establish the element/relay configuration to help place the paper correctly. And once the test is complete. This will also assist in determining whether it is an element or relay that requires replacing. 2.
