Extending the life of your existing elements will save you from having to buy a completely new set for a bit longer ! When elements heat up they become soft and will sag even more. You don’t want this to happen as this could sag badly enough that it might touch some work. It may also get damaged even more when taking the shelves in and out. But I don’t want to just change my elements for new ones yet as even though these look a bit gnarly there is loads of life left in them. So I want bend these back into their more like their originally shape. If your elements look like spaghetti - this video is for you. I show you the step to take to repair your elements. As the elements in a kiln age, your firings will likely take longer and it will take more energy to pass a current through the element. Keeping a record of how many firings your kiln has done will help you maintain your kiln’s health and ensure it keeps firing consistently. which is where my new book comes in! **The Essential Pottery Notebook**, it’s out January 28th 2025.
