My Daily Routine as a Nurse!

And make new friends :) This video is in response to a video request from MsALewis2! The question was this: Could you please do a video about how you organize your day/what a typical day on the job is like? This is a great question! Basically I try to make everything into a routine/habit so that it does not take too much mental capacity and I can use my brain to focus on important things! So to start I walk in with music that really touches the soul.. and I actually create my own audios with words that lift my spirits... I will make some for you soon! Then I get my assignment and add my patients to my list on the computer. At this point I look at the vital signs and labs and then get report from the off going RN in the patients room. Then it's time to see what time my patients meds are due. If they have insulin or 0800 meds I give those first. Then its time to do my assessments and document (Document immediately in the patients room!!!!!). 1100 its breakfast time.... Which is an avocado and 1-2 hard boiled eggs! After the morning routine the rest of the day can take on many different forms... Including Discharges and Admissions... I eat lunch around 2-3.. I always try to round every two hours on the even numbers... that way you don't forget about your quiet patients hehe :) Also! Sticky notes are the way I remember important things...
