Nobunaga continued to hold his ground, destroying his enemies Asakura Yoshikage of Echizen and Azai Nagamasa of Omi, and succeeding in thoroughly annihilating the Nagashima Ikko Ikki and Echizen Ikko Ikki in a campaign to annihilate them. When Shogun Yoshiaki called for help, Mori Terumoto of the Chugoku region announced his intention to join the siege of Nobunaga, and military supplies and ammunition were delivered to Ishiyama Hongan-ji Temple via the Seto Inland Sea.
