Leslie Yeo Part Two
Leslie Yeo (1915-2006) was born in England and trained in British provincial repertory theatres. He first came to the colony of Newfoundland in 1947 as part of a resident rep company, and returned in 1951 with his own enterprise called the London Theatre Company. After six successful seasons in St. John’s, including tours to the Maritimes and Ontario, he moved to Toronto and continued to act at regional theatres across the country, as well as the Stratford Festival and Shaw Festival. He also spent one year as artistic director of the Shaw Festival (1979). Interviewer: J.D. Gravenor
