Abalone Poachers BUST in Gansbaai

These shots were taken shortly after marine and coastal management busted abalone poachers outside of Gansbaai today, 31 March 2011. The police were tipped off about the poachers and a car chase took place between Gansbaai and Standford, during which the poachers threw their entire stock of bags filled with abalone across the R43 highway. They were eventually arrested and the abalone re-gathered...or at least most of it....
