Every day at 6 AM, the brown doors open to welcome Taclobanons to the warmth of fresh bread. Since 1970, Diorico's has been the spot to take your family after Sunday church, the place where students enjoy their wins, and a site to have a sweet romantic date. It is an integral part of people's lives filled with love and humility. Leni Diorico Ricacho continued her mother’s business ventures that started in their home kitchen. As she recalls, the business began in their family home with cakes and home-baked pastries. Eventually, they started creating a small variety of classics such as Pan de Monggo, Pan de Carne, or Pa de Coco. However, one product stood out, the cinnamon roll. With its unique shape and recipe that was developed by Ms. Leni and her mother, the cinnamon roll rose to popularity in the 70s creating a loyal customer base. Diorico’s has fed the people of Tacloban for decades. For families, students, and workers, it represents comfort and home. No matter where one goes, we always want to come back and try to remember what this feels like, and lucky for Taclobanons, we can taste this in a sweet cinnamon roll.
