Holistic journey for people with limb loss: from emergency intervention to sustainable care programs - Gaza The health system in the Gaza Strip is worsening day by day. With the deterioration of health services and shortages of medical supplies, medications, and basic care requirements, people with limb loss face increasing challenges that threaten their physical and mental health - exacerbating their daily suffering. These challenges are compounded by the ongoing restrictions on the entry of medications and essential supplies for prosthetics and specialized rehabilitation equipment, further widening the gap in access to necessary care services. While the number of amputations is increasing at an unprecedented rate, the available prosthetic and rehabilitation services remain limited compared to the growing need on the ground. Restrictions on the entry of qualified professionals and experts in this field have also limited training opportunities and technical support for local teams, placing additional strain on the capacity of existing institutions to respond to the increasing needs and provide services at the required level. In this documentary, Restoring Hope Society showcases its efforts and services for people with limb loss in the current circumstances - in partnership with supporting organizations and partners on the ground - through specialized programs aimed at providing long-term care, rehabilitation, and support. By highlighting the impact of these services, we seek to raise awareness of the scale of the existing needs, mobilize more international support to expand the response, and contribute to easing the pressure on the health system, particularly in the prosthetics and rehabilitation sector.
