Build a Non-Electrolytic Capacitor Insulation Resistance Tester to Identify Leaky Capacitors
Looking at a couple of the leaky capacitors I removed/tested from the RCA 8-X-541 and sharing a simple low voltage Capacitor Tester that identifies leakage on Non-Electrolytic types. Keep in mind that a capacitor may not exhibit leakage at low voltages but fail at higher voltages, which would not be detected using this circuit. NOTE: The shop drawing in the video has the LED inverted and has been corrected in the folder below. Kudos to RayDT for pointing this out. The schematic and BOM: https://drive.google.com/drive/folder... Thanks for watching and subscribing to my channel on vintage radio repair.
