The MEANEST neighbors we've ever dealt with… but we refused to QUIT

We actually noticed this one while we were driving by, because the front sidewalk was almost completely covered in dirt, and the front steps going up to the house were getting really bad too. So we went up and knocked on the door to see if we could clean it all up completely free of charge. The homeowner, Jeff, answered and was really excited about it, and he told us he'd recently had a stroke and has been having a hard time getting around. So this one wasn't just about making things look better. It was about making it safer for him, clearing off some of those tripping hazards so he could actually see what he was stepping on. But there's a little more to this story than just that. When we got started, we realized Jeff didn't have enough water pressure to run our Hotsy machine, but the neighbors across the street were outside, so we offered them $100 to use their water. That's where things started to go sideways. They put us on a two-hour clock without ever telling us, and this job took about three. So right at two hours, while we were trying to wrap up, they wanted to shut the water off, and they were yelling at us and just being really mean about the whole thing. We explained that we were doing this for free for the man across the street who just had a stroke, and they told us they didn't care. So we begged for 30 more minutes and busted our butts to get everything finished and safe for Jeff. But it was worth it, because it turned out amazing.
