Our voice responds to our mood. If you feel shame, rejection, or discouragement of any sort, you may notice tightness rising up in your chest and throat, inhibiting your vocal expression. you may notice you don’t want to speak. On the other hand, when you feel fresh and free, you notice your voice is also feeling open and expressive. HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR VOICE RESPONDS TO YOUR PSYCHOLOGICAL STATE If you wake up with a tight voice, it is a sign of tightness produced by your nervous system, rooted psychologically. If your voice becomes tight as the day progresses, it is because of triggers that happens through out your day, that are also, rooted psychologically. If after intense workouts, your voice tightness up, this is because as you breath deeply, your body begins to release trapped emotions in the belly, but, as they reach your throat, they often get trapped in that bottle neck. In either case, healing psychologically is of utmost importance, along with vocal exercises to release the tightness from the muscles around the vocal cords. With a little bit of practice, a charismatic voice can be had by anyone. Because we attract from people, that which we project. When we project insecurity, we get a response based on that. When we project confidence and friendliness, we also immediately attract a response that corresponds. IN CONCLUSION Some coaches in the communication space advise that you just start changing how you speak, but if you have tried that you likely know that this strategy just dents work in the long run. You must retrain your voice in a more technical and authentic way. After that, your speech will improve without even trying! How cool is that.
