This is a typical day that suddenly turned into a real adventure. I was woken up in the middle of the night by an excavator right outside my window. Why did roadwork start at two in the morning, and is it legal? Then we'll go see a new park, stroll through scorching Almaty, try to find a good place to eat, do some shopping before our trip to Aktobe, and even help out a grandfather who asked me to buy bread.
