India’s first uterine transplant baby born: What is a womb transplant?
India's first uterine transplant baby was delivered at a private hospital on Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Pune. The baby’s mother Meenakshi Walan, a resident of Vadodara in Gujarat, underwent a uterus transplant in May 2017. According to doctors, Meenakshi’s mother donated her uterus to her daughter whose uterus had been damaged after a miscarriage.
