Puspenerbal Panen Pisang Cavendish di Lahan 10 Hektare

The Indonesian Navy Aviation Center (Puspenerbal) has transformed 10 hectares of unused land at Juanda Air Base in Sedati, Sidoarjo, into a productive Cavendish banana plantation. This strategic step demonstrates the Indonesian Navy's commitment to supporting the government's priority national food security program. The banana plantation, located east of Pos Cemandi, is managed by Primkopal (the Indonesian National Armed Forces' Special Forces Command) with its partner, PT Duta Reka Bumi. From the total optimized land area, Puspenerbal projects a total estimated harvest yield of 37 tons per hectare. The 10 hectares of land converted into banana plantations were originally unused land at Juanda Air Base. Now, 25,000 banana trees, the Cavendish Mocca Anjasmoro variety, grow there. This variety is considered highly adaptable to local soil conditions, has high economic value, and offers sustainable market prospects. Once planted, banana trees can be harvested several times over three years, as the shoots can grow on their own. These Cavendish bananas will supply the commercial market through a network of retail and wholesale stores.
