"When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman" is a song by Dr. Hook. Written by Even Stevens, who followed producer Ron Haffkine into the studio bathroom to pitch him the song, "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman" which first appeared on the band's 1978 album Pleasure and Pain. In 1979 the song belatedly became an international hit, reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the USA and number one in the UK Singles Chart in November 1979. Carol Ann Alt (born December 1, 1961) is an American model and actress. Alt's first big break in modeling was in 1979, when she was featured on the cover of Harper's Bazaar magazine. However, she garnered publicity in 1982 when she featured on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover. During the 1980s, she appeared on over 500 magazine covers, becoming one of the most famous models of her era, attaining supermodel status. Carol Alt was one of the first models to turn fame in one field into success in other fields, such as acting, producing, and writing. She was ranked number 5 in the "Top 10 Models of All Time" poll, behind only Kathy Ireland, Christie Brinkley, Gisele Bündchen, and Cindy Crawford.
