OS FS 40. Test Runs after rebuild.

These are two old engines I received to get running again. One was partially disassembled, but I struggled for a few days to remove the piston pin of one and to get the rings loose on the pistons. You need to be patient with this; otherwise you will break a ring or cause damage. There were some other problems. One engine showed signs of possible previous bearing failure, with scratch marks on the conrod and crankcase, and the bush on the crank was spinning with the crank, causing some damage to the casing at that location. The other engine had no brass cap on one end, so I had to grind it slightly shorter to accept a Teflon stopper. The backplate of one engine had a dent in it, obviously from the crank slamming it while standing still. Possibly in a crash, for one pushrod was also bent. It does not leak and still does its job. These engines were obviously worked on before, but they now look good, and they run well with good compression on both. It took a few minutes to tune with the air Bleed carbs, but the owner should get them tuned and flying without any problems. Hope they fly well.
