Kinnaram - கின்னாரம் Documentary by Soundmani DOP - Hari Editing - Tharun pa Colourist - Naveen pa Content Writing - Ilanthendral Subtitles - Gayathri Shankar Publicity Design - Siva cinnah Title design - Aroon Special thanks to Aravind NewsJ Siva NewsJ Keerthana Rajan Kalanithi Manoj Tamilnadu Police Punitha online Ponni valavan பழங்காலத்து இசை கருவிகளை தேடும் பயணத்தில் இருந்த நான், கண்டறிந்து வியந்த ஓர் பொக்கிஷம், திருப்பூர் குன்னத்தூர் சேர்ந்த திரு அருணாச்சலம் அவர்கள். அனைவராலும் கின்னாரம் தாத்தா என அழைக்கப்படும் இவரை அறிமுகப்படுத்துவதில் எம் பரம் பரா நிறுவனத்திற்கு பெருமையும் மனநிறைவும் ஒருங்கேயுள்ளது. 63 வயதான இவர், சுமார் 50 வருடங்களாக கின்னாரம் வாசித்தும், அருகில் இருக்கும் ஊர்களில் சென்று பாட்டு படித்தும் வாழ்க்கை நடத்திவருகிறார்.குறிப்பாக, கோவலன் கண்ணகி காப்பிய கதையை உச்சத்சாயில் பாடி பிரமிக்கவைக்கிறார். தற்போது, உலகில் வாழும் ஒரே பாணர் கலையான கின்னாரம் இசைக்கும் ஒரே கலைஞர் இவரே.கின்னார சுரைக்காய் மற்றும் மூங்கில் கொண்டு தானே இசைக்கருவி செய்து வாழும் இக்கலைஞரின் வாழ்வாதாரம் கவலைக்குரியதே. மேட்சி போற்றவேண்டிய ஓர் கலைஞர், கொண்டாடப்படவேண்டிய அவரின் வரலாறு கேட்பாரில்லாமல் இருப்பது இவரின் இன்றைய நிலை. இந்நிலை மாற உழைக்க எம் பரம்பரா குழுமம் அயராது உழைக்கிறோம். இந்த ஆவணப்படத்தின் குறிக்கோளும் அதுவே. இக்கலையை உலகறிய செய்யவேண்டும். இவரின் வாழ்வை கொண்டாடவேண்டும். இந்த ஆவணப்படம் பார்த்த மக்களுக்கு எங்கள் அன்பான வேண்டுகோளும் இதுவே.. இவரை போல் பல கலைஞர்ககளையும் கலையையும் கண்டறியுங்கள். நம் வரலாற்று சான்றாய் நிற்கும் இதுபோன்ற கலைஞர்களை வணங்குவோம். தேடல் தொடரும்.... On a quest to find the ancient music instruments, we found a gem hailing in Kunnathur, Tirupur District. We from “ParramParra” proudly present Mr. Aranachalam, Kinnaram artist in nandhavanam, kunnathur, from the district of tirupur. This 63 year old, ancient folk-lore artist astounded us with his impeccable instrument and soul-stirring singing. Mr Aranachalam, a renowned musician in his village for playing ‘Kovalan-Kannagi’ historical tale popularly known Silapadhigaram for about 50 years now, for the past three generations. His musical embraces hours and at times days of singing (the profession called as “PAANAR”- one who sings, in olden times) that was appreciably mastered from his father and grandfather through word of mouth in his teen age. Even though the song be short of written format, he sings miraculously with his deep rooted passion for the instrument and inheritance. When asked, why he didn’t go to school, Aranachalam smilingly commented he liked to play Kinnaram more than studies. It is exceptional that we find the kind of passion he holds involving crafting the instrument from scratch using earth supplies including vegetables like Dried White Pumpkin and Bamboo, miles of walking to go to remote villages, sing for hours and days, and earn a living in spite of living options other than music that was offered to him. At present, Mr Aranachalam, is the last-known Kinnaram artist in this world. Though his appearance seems majestic with a head turban and sound voice, his way of living is humble in a hut with meagre provision of sustenance. We, from “Parram Parra” have commenced this documentary as a path to help this legendary artist for his life of passion to art and music. We also sincerely commit to spread this lovely art to the globe by all means. We humbly request you all to help these folk artists wherever possible as they are our history, a priceless possession that we should celebrate, to our best support!
