This monumental structure demonstrates the capabilities of Saxon architects producing a huge church that would suffer surprisingly little remodelling in later centuries allowing us to see the original saxon fabric of the building and admire the scope and size of what they could build. So many English churches and cathedrals see their origins in the Norman and Gothic periods it is easy to forget that of which the Saxons were capable. Music: Bensound.com
