In today's open house, I visited the apartment of Daniel Virgínio and Derek Fernandes, a place I've been following for a long time through social media and its transformation process. It's a house with a story in every corner. From the monochromatic blue hall, full of carefully selected pieces, gifts, and anonymous objects with soul, to the kitchen with its seventies vibe, red doors, and pendant lights found on OLX (a Brazilian online marketplace), everything reveals a very special alignment of taste between the two. They mix vintage and contemporary naturally, creating a space that is simultaneously affectionate, functional, and full of personality. In the social area, the living room was divided into three well-defined atmospheres: music, dining, and living. The building's original floor is a show in itself, and the dining table carries one of the most moving stories of the episode, coming from a 1950s apartment and preserved with the marks of time. The handcrafted screen with silver leaf, the works of emerging artists, the carefully selected lamps, and the meticulous curation of each object show how the house is built from memory, meaning, and a lot of intention. The tour also includes the monochromatic bathroom, the TV room full of art, the colorful office, and the cozy bedroom, where they talk about real comfort, fabrics, and choices that work in everyday life. It's an apartment that translates identity in every detail and proves that a well-thought-out home goes far beyond aesthetics.
