9.7.26 Sentido homenaje de Resistencia a la Patria, al celebrarse 210º años de la Independencia

The city of Resistencia paid tribute to the nation on July 9th, celebrating 210 years of independence. The commemoration of this anniversary of emancipation from Spain began with the raising of the National Flag on the city's main flagpole. The ceremony was attended by provincial and municipal authorities, judicial officials, members of the armed forces and security forces, representatives from various communities, consular officials, educational institutions, and Malvinas War veterans. Accompanied by the "Luis Omobono Gusberti" Municipal Band, the Argentine National Anthem was sung, and a brief account of the Battle of Tucumán was presented. The ceremony concluded with the traditional Te Deum at the Cathedral Church, officiated by the Archbishop of Resistencia, Monsignor Ramón Dus. The priest stated, “It has been 210 years of journeying together as a nation, and today we celebrate this freedom as a great commitment to building it. We place our faith, as we believe and pray, in hope, building together and coming together as Argentinians. May the Lord bless us as a homeland and as a country.” The Municipal Secretariat of Culture and Tourism praised this celebration, saying, “It allows us to remember and keep our history present, and in this way, also to remain united under the same identity that all Argentinians share.” They reflected, “We always emphasize, on each of Argentina’s national holidays, the unity that allows us all to remember history and appreciate our present.”
