One of the loudest news was the exposure of a forestry official suspected of official negligence. According to law enforcement officers, due to improper control over forest areas in the territory of the Nyzhneberezivsky forestry of the Kosiv district, unidentified persons illegally cut down 125 trees of various species. The ecological examination estimated the damage caused to the state at over 11 million hryvnias. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway, and the suspect faces criminal liability. Another important topic was the presentation of the annual report of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Over the past year, over 4 thousand citizens' appeals were registered in Ivano-Frankivsk region — four times more than at the beginning of the full-scale war. Most often, people appeal because of problems with protecting the rights of families of missing servicemen, access to information, and social issues. Special attention was paid during the event to the development of the institute of school ombudsmen. Today, 172 school and 5 student ombudsmen work in the Carpathian region. Their main task is to help pupils and students protect their rights, promote conflict resolution, and form a culture of mutual respect in the educational environment. By the end of the year, this practice is planned to be introduced in all educational institutions of the region. Tragic news also came from Kolomyia district. A triple traffic accident involving Mazda, Volkswagen and MAN trucks occurred in the village of Otynia. According to preliminary police data, the Mazda driver lost control and drove into the oncoming lane. As a result of the accident, the man was injured and hospitalized. Law enforcement officers once again remind us of the importance of following traffic rules, because in just five months of this year, 36 people, including four children, died on the roads of the Carpathian region. The issue also tells about the support for Ukrainian defenders. The Ivano-Frankivsk community handed over 35 FPV drones to the military to perform combat missions on one of the hottest front lines. The military emphasizes that modern drones are one of the most important tools in the fight against the enemy today, and support for the rear remains critically necessary. Another positive news concerns the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. The educational institution has completed the restoration of facilities damaged by the missile strike. In particular, the sports complex has been completely reconstructed, damaged windows have been replaced, and the lighting and heating system have been updated.
