Restauración del Ex Convento de San Francisco

The Convent of San Francisco, once considered the largest in Mexico with an area of 30,000 square meters, was founded in 1524, just three years after the Conquest of Mexico. Throughout history, this complex served as the main center for the evangelization of Mexico. In 1862, it was looted and used as a carriage house and cavalry barracks. In 1880, it served as a Protestant church before returning to the Franciscan order in 1949.
