From Clay to Ceramic Sculpture : Coil, Slab and Pinch Tutorial

In this pottery video, I start creating a handmade ceramic lamp from a simple piece of clay. This is part one of the journey — building the main ceramic form using traditional hand building techniques, including the coil method and slab building technique. I show the process of preparing the clay, creating the base, adding coils step by step, shaping the form, refining the surface, and preparing the piece for firing. This ceramic sculpture is made without a pottery wheel, using only hand building methods. In the next videos, I will show the glazing process and how I transform this handmade ceramic piece into a functional ceramic lamp.
