A Walkabout - so Leo can see that it’s OK for a horse to have a rider!

Wednesday, July 1, 2026. I brought Rose with me when I went to watch Annette and Robin saddle Leo for the first time. Then we did a walk around with Robin riding Bella and Annette leading Leo. Then Robin‘s Friend Mia rode Bella for a short jaunt on the driveway and after that we ground drove, Rose in the round pen. Each of these activities are on separate videos. This video shows Robin saddling Bella and then we set off for a little walk about up and down the driveway so Leo could follow and see somebody sitting on top of Bella‘s back. Leo was just schooled to wear a saddle for the first time so the second part of his lesson is watching a horse with a rider. Previously, he’s mostly seen Bella and Lex hooked to cart. The walkabout was very slow and relaxing, and we moseyed to the end of the driveway where there are pluot trees with ripe fruit.  Annette and Robin demo and then Leo and Bella watch and learn getting “training” on how to eat fresh picked ripe fruit!
