Overview of a Modern DRM Driver - Matt Coster, Imagination Technologies
Overview of a Modern DRM Driver - Matt Coster, Imagination Technologies Matt has been working on Imagination Technologies' brand new open source PowerVR driver since its inception in 2020. The kernel component of this driver was written from the ground up to provide the best possible UAPI to implement the modern Vulkan graphics API on top of it at one end, and to take advantage of several of the newest DRM features on the other. His talk will focus on the latter, exploring recent DRM features such as the ability of the DRM scheduler to offload scheduling decision to device firmware, the brand new GPU VA manager component, as well as the use of explicit-only sync primitives.
