Krishnan Kartha Born in 1964, Krishnan Kartha started his career as a journalist. He started his professional career by writing news articles with a byline in the tabloid newspaper "Afternoon Despatch & Courier" published from Bombay under the editorship of renowned columnist Behram Contractor (BCB). He then worked for "Commerce Weekly" until it became the daily newspaper "Business & Political Observer" and for INFA, India's leading feature syndicate. A well-known sitar player, he composed the fusion music "Ravija" for Doordarshan in 1986. Then, at the age of twenty-three, he directed his first Hindi film, Amshini (1987). Amshini was the first feature film of famous Bollywood actress Seema Biswas. In February 1988, during the discussions for his second film, Vanaprastham (which he abandoned at the stage of paperwork.
