Actress Ryoko Shinohara appeared on stage at a premium preview screening of the latest film in the hit anime series, "ONE PIECE FILM Z," held at a movie theater in Tokyo on November 7th. Shinohara, who made her voice acting debut in the film, apparently received a great response from those around her. "My son was happy, too, and he said, 'Mom, you're so cool.' Just knowing I was going to be a voice actor for ONE PIECE really boosted my reputation," she said with a smile. Also, Shinohara, who watched the finished film with her child that morning, said, "He was excited by Nami's breasts (laughing). He seems to really love her. Oh, he seems to really love Nami," drawing laughter from the audience. "ONE PIECE FILM Z" is the latest animated film based on Eiichiro Oda's popular manga, and for the first time, it's set in the "New World Arc," which follows Luffy and his friends after two years of training. With the "Dyna Rock," an energy source said to rival ancient weapons, stolen, the New World is in danger of being destroyed by the legendary former Navy Admiral Zed, who plots to "eliminate all pirates." Now, Zed and his men stand in the way of the Straw Hat Pirates... The film is scheduled for nationwide release on December 15th. Shinohara takes on the role of Ain, a sexy female scientist and Zed's subordinate. Also appearing as a guest voice actor is actor Teruyuki Kagawa, who plays Binz, Zed's subordinate. In addition to Shinohara, Kagawa, and other regular voice actors, including Mayumi Tanaka, who plays the main character Luffy, also appeared at the stage greeting. Prior to the stage greeting, a lighting ceremony was held for the "Illumination Island Odaiba 2012 ONE PIECE FILM Z" collaborative Christmas illuminations, which began on the 7th at Odaiba in Tokyo to commemorate the film's release. Shinohara, Kagawa, and the regular voice actors attended. The illuminations lit up a roughly 7-meter-tall pirate ship sculpture called the "Thousand Sunny" located in the "Aqua Arena" on the third floor of Aqua City, the main venue. Shinohara, who said she was moved by the illuminations, said when asked about her Christmas plans, "My family and I are thinking about what we might do, but we don't have any plans yet."
