Meanwhile, Miss Jane reassures Mr. Drysdale that the Clampetts have agreed to go to Palm Springs, buying him time to send Margaret back to Boston. Taking Drysdale’s advice about investing in good stock quite literally, Jed decides to purchase cows, pigs, and chickens to raise. Using the phone, he manages to order the animals, which soon take up residence on the Drysdale’s tennis court. In her determination to help, Granny prepares her special mash, convinced it will cure Mrs. Drysdale’s imagined drinking problem. She and Elly pass the mash to Ravenswood (Arthur Gould-Porter), the Drysdale’s butler, who is thoroughly baffled. The confusion escalates when Marie (Sirry Steffen), the Drysdale’s maid, unknowingly gives the mash to Milburn instead. Alarmed by the commotion caused by the animals, Drysdale rushes to the Clampett mansion, desperate to keep Margaret from discovering the racket. Meanwhile, the Clampetts try to deliver goat’s milk to Margaret, believing it’s a necessary follow-up to Granny’s mash. Chaos ensues as Margaret, already overwhelmed, sees Granny peeking through her window and finds a goat and a chicken in her bathroom. Convinced she’s losing her mind, Margaret decides to return to Boston for medical help, unaware that her troubles stem from her eccentric new neighbors.
