寛一郎、初共演の福地桃子は「すごく艶っぽくて色っぽい」／映画『そこにきみはいて』完成披露舞台挨拶【トークノーカット】

The premiere screening of the film "There You Are" was held in Tokyo on Monday, November 10th, with Fukuchi Momoko, Kanichiro, the film's original creator and actor Nakagawa Ryutaro, and director Takema Yasutsugu all taking the stage to greet the audience. Fukuchi, who plays the protagonist Kaori, greeted the audience, saying, "This is an important film about spending time carefully, with trusted, important people, over a slow and steady flow of time. I'm nervous to see how it will be received, but I'm also looking forward to it." Kanichiro seems to feel a sense of destiny about his participation in this film, and begins by saying, "There's something I want everyone to know." He continues, "At first, I received the script and proposal, and Takema's name was on it, so I was aware of him. That's because someone I worked with on my debut film had starred in one of Takema's films, and they would often tell me, 'Takema's crazy. He's a crazy guy' (laughs). It was my first time meeting Fukuchi, who plays the lead, but we have a mutual acquaintance who told me, 'Momo-chan is a really nice girl.' Then, when I heard that Nakagawa Ryutaro would be appearing as an actor, actually when I was around 20 years old, shortly after my debut, Nakagawa said to me, 'Let's go out for dinner,' and we said, 'We're young, so let's make a movie,' and 'Let's do it!' But it never happened, and after six or seven years, when I heard that Nakagawa would be appearing as an actor, I thought, 'I have no choice, I have to do it!'" he confessed. Regarding the story, he revealed, "When I read it, I remembered what Nakagawa-san had said to me back then: 'Run, as fast as you can so despair won't catch up with you,' and I felt like, 'Wow! The dots are connecting!'" After going through all this, Nakagawa entrusted the project to director Takema, and he himself participated as an actor. Regarding the completed film, he said with emotion, "I came up with the idea, but I think it was good that Takema-san did it. I'm 35 now, and I don't think I would have been able to make this film then, so I'm glad that Takema-san was able to finish it in this way, and that Fukuchi-san and Kanichiro-san are both important actors to me, and that he directed them in this way. I'm reminded once again that I was able to make this with such wonderful colleagues." He is also active as a director, and once again spoke frankly about Director Takema, to whom he entrusted his original idea and planning, saying, "I think the character I played, Shingo (Kenryu's best friend), is both me and Takema. I think the great thing about this job is that these two parts mix together, and being able to create a single role together is something you don't often get to experience in everyday life, and it greatly changed the way I directed the film afterwards. I'm truly grateful and respectful." Regarding her first co-starring role with Kanichiro, Fukuchi said, "What I remember very well is that when we weren't in the same scene, Kanichiro's presence really hit me. When we were filming a really important scene for Kanichiro, I heard through Takema-san, 'We were having a really good time,' and I felt like the temperature of the room was really there, and (putting her hand on her chest) this whole area got really heated up. That's something Kanichiro gave me. I feel like every single word Takema-san told me (about Kanichiro's condition) was giving me a push every day." She recalled feeling Kanichiro's presence even when they weren't on set. On the other hand, Kanichiro spoke of Fukuchi's appeal, saying, "I don't mean that in an insulting way (laughs), but I had an image of her as a 'country girl' in a good way, maybe because of the roles she's played up until now (laughs), but when I actually met her, she was very seductive and sexy. I thought it was wonderful how she carefully considered each and every word she said and wove it together." Director Takema, who witnessed the exchange between the two actors as director on set, said, "It felt like a miracle was happening. I think a director's job is to discover it and capture it on film, but I was excited and moved that something miraculous like this could happen (through the actors' performances), including Ryutaro. I wrote the script myself, directed it, and when the actors bring their characters to life, is that really true acting? Watching everyone's performances, I was so moved I was trembling." And in reference to the title, "There You Are," when asked what people or things you would want to be there during this cold season, Nakagawa replied, "When you feel lonely, it's the movie theater, isn't it? This time of year feels a little lonely, doesn't it? I think the experience of watching one light with a large group of people goes hand in hand with loneliness," to which the audience applauded.
