Nike Odyssey React Flyknit 2 - After 100 Miles

Went for a 16 mile long run with my running buddy today, which put me over the 100 mile mark in the Nike Odyssey React 2 Flyknit. This is a shoe that I previously wrote off last year as a knock down version of the Epic React. But I think that oversimplified things. Yes, it is cheaper than the Epic React. Yes, there is less flyknit than the Epic React. And yes (or maybe yes), there is less React foam than the Epic React. But the shoe this reminds me most of is the Pegasus (and it's not just because they have the same starting retail price). I really think the best way to think about the Odyssey React Flyknit 2 is to think of it as the Pegasus for people who don't like zoom air (or who want a shoe that has greater longevity than cushlon). And like the Pegasus, the fit on the Odyssey React Flyknit 2 is quite tight. In fact, I think it might be necessary for at least some people to size up in this shoe. While I think this shoe is probably best suited for your moderate to hard days, I think this shoe can easily suit the needs for a lot of runners are a solid daily trainer. And based on my prior experience with React shoes and with my 100 mile experience in this shoe, I think the shoe is an extremely durable and long lasting shoe, which only further increases its miles per dollar value.
