Chadian peacekeeper posthumously awarded Diagne Medal for Exceptional Courage | United Nations
Captain Abdelrazakh Hamit Bahar single-handedly led an operation to protect hundreds of civilians and peacekeepers alike during an attack by an armed group on the Aguelhok Super Camp in Mali in April 2021. He was shot and killed in the attack. On May 26, he was honored with the Captain Mbaye Diagne Medal for Exceptional Courage, handed over to his family during a ceremony at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
