本当に引き返したくなった…“酷道425号”最大の難所へ｜十津川〜龍神村ツーリング【関西モトブログ】

*I've recently started adding Japanese subtitles to my videos. I've included background music in some scenes to capture the atmosphere of my travel destinations. Please use the subtitles if the dialogue is difficult to hear or if you're in an environment where you can't play sound, such as on a train. After finishing lunch at "Anglers Base Shimokitayama Village" in Shimokitayama Village, I resumed my journey across National Route 425. From here, I'll be crossing two mountain passes in a section of just under 50km. First, from Shimokitayama Village to Totsukawa Village. I passed through the Shiratani Tunnel, which is just under 1km long and located near the summit. Although the tunnel had no lighting, the weather was good that day, and I could see the light at the exit, so it wasn't as scary as I expected. I continued straight to the junction with National Route 168, passed through the center of Totsukawa Village, and rejoined National Route 425. From here, I'm heading towards Ryujin Village. This section is a difficult pass known as "Ushimawashigoe." This was the third mountain pass on this trip, and honestly, it was quite tough. Partway through, I was so tired I wanted to go home (laughs). The Totsukawa side had many houses, and up to a certain point, it felt like a local road with bus service. However, once I crossed Ushimawari Pass and entered Wakayama Prefecture, the scenery changed completely. There were few guardrails, and the mountain road continued, constantly wet from spring water. This road was quite a challenge at the end of the trip. I finally made it to National Route 371 and arrived at Motoyu in Ryujin Village. I really wanted to relax in the hot springs, but since check-in time at the inn was approaching, I practically took a quick dip before setting off again. My accommodation for the night was "Monpe to Kuwa." It's a dormitory-style inn where you can choose whether or not to include breakfast and dinner. This part ends here upon arrival at the inn.
