Marble Madness (2010) Classic Levels
By request, here is a video of what the original Marble Madness levels look like in the 2010 mobile version. This video also includes a playthrough of these levels in "Challenge Mode", although right now I don't see any differences between this mode and the normal playthrough. There are a couple new sprites for some of the hazards, such as the waves and the birds, but otherwise the levels themselves look like they're taken out of the arcade game. Differences in gameplay mostly come from the new physics engine. Since the speed of your marble isn't controlled by spinning the trackball faster or slower, the game has your marble gain momentum while going in a straight line in order to give you different speeds. This can make some parts of the game more difficult to get past, such as the first gap in Aerial Race. Sometimes the game can give you too much momentum, which can be seen on the second gap in Aerial Race. The only other overall gameplay difference is the timer. In this version you are given more time per race, the maximum time can go up to three digits, and the time goes down slower. This makes it possible to make plenty of mistakes while still being able to complete every level (which I show here through my horrible playthrough of these levels). Other level specific gameplay differences include some missing steelies, odd hitboxes (especially on the birds), and long wait times for the paths to appear on the final level.
