Old Industrial Sites: Cwmbran, Pontypool, Blaenavon, Clydach (Gwent UK)
Here are some of my photographs, taken mainly in the 1980s, of just a few old industrial sites in South East Wales. These fall in the present counties of Torfaen and Monmouthshire. Some of these sites have been demolished or redeveloped. Sorry, some of the photos are not very good quality. This is a beautiful area, in spite of the ravages of the industrial revolution and following development, including open cast mining. The results of a detailed survey of the industrial landscape of South East Wales can be obtained from this web page: http://www.ggat.org.uk/cadw/swi/engli... . Background audio is my version of "Mona Lisa" by Livingstone & Evans.
