Oregon Coast vanlife in November 2024 - Part 2
Episode 60 | December 2024 | Oregon Coast ----------- Our journey up the Oregon Coast continues from Newport to Lincoln City. We have a lot of trouble finding a place to sleep since three ioverlander spots failed us. We set up our bus decorations for Christmas. We got a mouse on the windshield and saved their life! Then some disc golf in Newport then up to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse and Devils Punchbowl. We camped at Beverly Beach State Park to get some power and there was an earthquake in Eureka California! We got the tsunami alert but the map said we were just outside the warning area. We had about 2 hours before the wave would hit so we watched the alert system for the cities closer to the earthquake and they didn't have any wave, so even though we were vigilant we weren't worried as the time came. After that we went up into the forest to camp and ended up on a very active logging road where we found out our roof had a leak from some damaged fiberglass that I foolishly thought wasn't that bad. Turns out ANY crack in fiberglass must be mended immediately! Our last event was while we were at Taco Bell where we got backed into by another car, fortunately it was a very soft hit and we have a very soft bumper so no problem. ----------- 00:00 Introduction 00:26 Newport & finding a spot to sleep 03:39 Christmas Setup 05:07 Mouse on the windshield! 05:42 Disc Golf 06:24 Yaquina Head Lighthouse 07:29 Devils Punchbowl 08:03 Tsunami Warning! 09:14 Depoe Bay 10:21 Camping near Logging 14:07 Roof Leak 15:38 Logging Trucks 16:54 Hit by car! 19:46 Wrap-up -------------------- Alice and Kristin are a married couple in their 40's. Now we are traveling the northwest United States mostly in the Portland, Oregon area!
