Some do it because they no longer love their partner, others do it out of a desire for sexual variety, and others do it for other situational factors. But this figure could be underestimated, as the definition of cheating can vary across ages, races, and cultures, and above all, not all cheaters feel comfortable talking about it. But are we all made to be monogamous, or do we just think we are? In recent years, we've been redefining what it means to be a couple. While monogamy was once the only possible identity and the traditional way of conceiving a relationship, today people are beginning to aspire to other forms of relationship, and we're seeing an increase in open relationships.
