Shanghai Minhang: Rise of Hongqiao CBD injecting more HQ economies into new development

Minhang, located in SW Shanghai, used to be renowned for its cluster of machinery manufacturers in the 1950s, creating many "firsts" in new China's heavy industry. Nowadays, taking innovation as its priority, the development of Minhang focuses on the high-end equipment manufacturing, artificial intelligence and information technology. Its new engine, the Hongqiao CBD, has so far attracted almost 10,000 companies settling in, with more than 200 headquarters making it their home. Also adoring green, Minhang now boasts a total of 127 parks, with a forest coverage rate of 18.48%, highlighting livable for people.
