Pitch For Peace - Belmor Primary School, Youth Day 2026

This past Youth Day, Uthando and Our Partners had the pleasure of launching another 5-a-side soccer pitch in Hanover Park, this time at Belmor Primary School, which becomes the third soccer pitch in the area! We with all of these pitches being built, we have launched a league format for the schools to compete with each other on a regular basis! Why Are These Pitches Important? Within many communities around Cape Town, the lack of activities and opportunities leads many youth down the wrong pathways, often leading to gangsterism and drug abuse. "Pitches For Peace" provide an alternative for our youth, pulling them away from these negative influences. These spaces are stimulating and compelling, keeping youth off of the streets, and provide them with opportunities to develop and reach new levels!
