TERRAS DE QUILOMBO, um filme de Murilo Santos

The situation of the Quilombola communities in the municipality of Alcântara (MA), one of the regions of the country with the highest concentration of communities descended from Quilombos, is the subject of the documentary "Terra de Quilombos: Uma Dívida Histórica" ​​(Land of Quilombos: A Historical Debt). The video, directed by Murilo Santos and funded by the Ford Foundation, shows the difficulties faced by local communities due to the lack of access to arable land after the establishment of the Alcântara Launch Center (CLA), a rocket launch center controlled by the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero). The CLA is also focused on the maintenance and upgrading of equipment and the training of technicians and engineers.
