2020 5A Championship: Warner Robins vs. Cartersville

After three straight years of heartbreak in the championship game, Warner Robins finally broke through in a big way. Behind quarterback Jalen Addie’s six-touchdown performance, the Demons dominated Cartersville 62-28 to claim the program’s fifth state title. Addie threw for 259 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 107 yards and three more scores, leading a ground game that produced 342 rushing yards. Jahlen Rutherford rushed 21 times for 143 yards and a touchdown, and Malcom Brown added 102 yards and a score on 13 carries. Daveon Walker hauled in six catches for 91 yards and a TD. Cartersville struck first with a 94-yard kickoff return by Sam Phillips and led 14-7 early, but Warner Robins responded with 35 unanswered points. Cartersville QB Carlos Del Rio-Wilson passed for 225 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted twice and sacked twice.
