We were moved to once again distribute waqf Qurans to remote areas of Central Sulawesi. On Poi Poopa Hill, the Kampung Berkah Pasigala Islamic Boarding School stands on a plateau as part of the post-earthquake recovery area in Palu-Donggala. Many of the existing Quranic copies there had been damaged due to continued use for Quran study and memorization. The journey continued across the sea to Dusun 6 on Maputi Island, a small island that now has new Quranic copies for its TPQ (Islamic Religious Education Center) and residents. We also stopped at Pangalasiang Island and met with the mentor of the Khoirul Ummah Islamic Youth, which was formed to encourage teenagers to be active in Islamic activities and learn the Quran.
