BUFFALO DANCE - OHKAY OWINGEH PUEBLO EASTER SUNDAY CELEBRATION – Buffalo Dancing to the Drums The Buffalo Dance is traditionally danced at Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo on Easter Sunday to summon the strength of the Buffalo for coming of Spring and natures cycle. The drums summon the community and dancers as a call to gather and celebrate the end of the Winter season and renewal of Mother Earth’s spring cycle of procreation and re-generation. We were honored to be able to record the Drums and dance for Spring 2023 The Power of the drum is Mother Earths Heart beat.
