South Africa, Drakensberg, Snow Hike

The Northern Drakensberg Mountains are a popular destination for serious hikers. Every season offers something special. During the South African winter period there is a good chance to find snow on top of the escapement. In this video we hike up the escapement via a long winding path beneath the northern face of the Sentinel and a set of chain ladders to reach the summit. Once on top, we continue to the summit of Mont-aux-sources. From there we hike to the top of the Tugela waterfall and back to where we started via the chain ladders. During the second hike we go and look at the Gudu waterfall.
